EN 10084 20NiCrMo13-4 is a high-alloy nickel-chromium-molybdenum carburizing steel grade designed for components requiring an extremely hard, wear-resistant surface combined with a very tough and high-strength core after carburizing and heat treatment. With approximately 0.20% carbon and elevated alloy content, this grade offers excellent hardenability, deep case hardening capability, superior fatigue strength, and high resistance to shock loading in demanding applications.

With a nominal carbon content of approximately 0.42%, this grade delivers superior tensile strength and wear resistance after quenching and tempering, while the addition of sulphur (S) enhances machining efficiency compared to 42CrMo4.
